Luke Olynyk

Luke oversees Transparentem’s grants and ensures that funders are effectively and regularly informed regarding organizational performance.

Prior to joining Transparentem, Luke was an independent consultant specializing in international development, human and labor rights, and responsible supply chains. As a consultant, he worked with multiple organizations spearheading analyses of human rights risks in global commodity supply chains and responsible labor recruitment practices, including in commodities such as cocoa, cotton, and electronics. Previously, Luke worked as a Grants Officer Representative in the Office of Child Labor, Forced Labor, and Human Trafficking in the Bureau of International Labor Affairs at the US Department of Labor. In this capacity, he led efforts to alleviate exploitative labor practices across Sub-Saharan Africa through managing multi-million dollar projects, engaging with relevant stakeholders, and conducting research on labor rights abuses abroad. Luke also served in the US Peace Corps in Senegal as a Sustainable Agriculture Extension Agent.

Luke earned an M.Sc. in Conflict Studies from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a B.A. in International Relations from Drake University.
